Magatar
Mining
Magatar
is a privately held energy production company. Initial business
interests have been acquired in the coal mining industry, principally
as an owner and miner of coal reserves, and specializes in underground
continuous mining (although some of its reserves will be mined through
open cast mining). At present, Magatar conducts business in Australia
and South Africa. In addition, reserves are being investigated in
Indonesia and New Zealand
Magatar differentiates itself in the competitive coal mining industry,
through its unique Linear Continuous Mining Methodology ("the
LCM Methodology"), which has been designed, developed and patented
by Magatar.
Compared with traditional underground coal extraction methods, the
utilization of the LCM Methodology results in coal being extracted
more efficiently, at a lower cost and with much less risk to human
life and the environment. In addition, coal deposits which are regarded
as too thin to be extracted economically through traditional methods,
can be mined cost-effectively.
The benefits to be realized through the use of
the LCM Methodology, has therefore resulted in Magatar's strategy
and vision developing around the "Magatar
Triple E Principle", being:
Economy
Efficiency
Environment and social conscience
