HEIN LASS

Hein is a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in the engineering and mining industries. He has been involved in the development of large calibre weapons systems, suburban train brakes, ocean going vessels and mining equipment.

He gained engineering and management experience at companies such as LEW, Wabco Westinghouse, Dorbyl Shipbuilders and was General Manager at McCarthy Mine Machinery (a Dorbyl Ltd company) before becoming a consultant to the coal mining industry.

As consultant Hein assisted with the development of new mining equipment, mine method optimisation and alternative mining methods. His client list includes Voest Alpine, De Beers, Sasol Mining, Kuyasa and Prairie Machine & Parts.
